Getting Nice Looking Calf Muscle

You may walk around or bike all day and still nothing works
to help you overcome that skinny calf muscles that you have.
Doing a lot of workouts may give you bigger quadriceps muscles,
but your calves would still be scrawny. They are firm and
tight, but flat. You may do calf raises with heavy weights
but no matter what, your Calf muscles may stay tiny. The
reason for this is that unfortunately, calves are genetic.
If you have skinny calves and work them like hell, you will
have stronger skinny calves. World class body builders may
have trouble making their calves bigger if their genes are
not good.
Here are a few things you may try that can help:
• Running up stairs
• Power jumping (like in basketball)
• EXTREMELY heavy calf raises. You need heavy workouts
because your calves are already working when you walk, run
or bike.
So if you just hate your skinny calf muscles or you are
shaping up for the summer, try the previously mentioned
exercises, but keep in mind that it is tough because of
your genes.
If the previously mentioned exercises do not work for you,
try the following exercise; the drop sets:
Start with your maximum weight on a calf raise machine,
perform the normal number of repetitions you usually do,
then remove 10 pounds and quickly do another set, then remove
another 10 pounds and so on until you reach 50 percent of
your original weight. This is the ultimate way to train
your calf muscles and may actually give you bigger calves.
It is very hard work and you probably won’t be able
to walk for a while after that exercise. The regular calf
raises do not work your calves hard enough to stimulate
growth of your skinny calf muscles but this will definitely
make a change.
